THAYER, Circuit Judge.

The above-named petitioner made application to me, at chambers, for a writ of habeas corpus to secure his release from the United States penitentiary at Ft. Eeavenworth, Kan., where he is now serving out a term of imprisonment which was imposed qpon him May 13, 1901, by the United States court for'the Southern District of the Indian Territory, sitting at Pauls Valley, in said district. He appears to have been convicted upon his plea of guilty of the offense of selling liquor within the Indian Territory, and was sentenced to two years and six months’ imprisonment in the…
