The plaintiff, Grace Hawkins, brought this action as the widow of W. S. Hawkins, to recover damages for the death of her said husband, an employe of the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company, appellant herein. Said Hawkins was struck and killed on the 27th day of February, 1907, by a car then operated by the defendant company at its iron and steel works at Pueblo, Colorado. At the time of the injury he was foreman of steam-pipe fitters, and his duties were confined to the blast furnace depart*422ment.
