LUCAS, Judge:

In this contested case, a general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members found the appellant guilty of committing two assaults with a knife, both violations of Article 128, Uniform Code of Military Justice [UCMJ], 10 U.S.C. § 928, and sentenced the appellant to 6 months confinement, monetary forfeitures, reduction to pay grade E-l, and a bad-conduct discharge. Except to correct a minor error with the *600forfeitures, the convening authority approved the sentence.
