HAMILTON, Circuit Judge:

In this appeal, we must decide whether David Robb, Sr. (the Debtor) may discharge his obligation for $3,000 monthly payments ($3,000 Monthly Payments) to his ex-wife, Linda Robb-Fulton (Linda or the ex-wife), which arose as part of a voluntarily executed marital settlement.
