SMITH, Circuit Judge.

Ramon Mendoza-Mesa appeals the district court’s 1 enhancement of his sentence for possession of a firearm during the commission of a drug-trafficking crime. We affirm.

I. Background

On February 5, 2002, authorities arrested Mendoza-Mesa and his co-defendant, Ramero Pineda, following a controlled-buy covert drug operation. Mendoza-Mesa and Pineda sold one pound of methamphetamine for $5,500 to a confidential informant (“Cl”) who was cooperating with drug task force and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents.
