Twenty-seven-year-old Sammy Burchi-nal was employed by Texmeeana Management, LLC (Texmeeana), as a truck driver. Among his duties was to deliver trailers which had been manufactured by PJ Trailers Manufacturing, Inc. (Manufacturing), and loaded by it onto flatbed haulers owned by Texmeeana. On March 21 or 22, 2007, Sammy drove from Texas to Califor nia to deliver a load of Manufacturing’s trailers (which had been stacked atop one another on the flatbed) to California Custom Trailers, Inc.
