Appellant Richard Potts was found guilty by a jury of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine base, or “crack,” in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846, and murder in furtherance of a continuing criminal enterprise, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 848(e)(1)(A). He was sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment. This case centered around a large scale drug organization in Philadelphia known as “Do or Die” or “D.O.D.,” which was operated by Daniel Coach.
