In January, 1920, the defendant Travelers Insurance Company issued and delivered to the defendant Max Berliner its policy of insurance whereby it insured the life of the defendant Max Berliner in the sum of $1,000 payable to the defendant Annie Berliner, his wife, upon his decease. The policy contains a clause: “ Provided this contract is not assigned the Insured may at any time and from time to time during its continuance, change the Beneficiary to take effect only when such change and the written consent of the Company thereto are indorsed upon the contract at the Home Office of the Company…
