On September 5, 1920, plaintiff entered into a contract with defendant to deliver to it 2,991 tons of pig iron of three different grades at prices based upon a price of $35.58 per ton, for No. 2 iron. Deliveries were to be made to defendant in equal monthly amounts during the months of September, October, November, and December, 1920. A total of 770 tons were delivered and paid for within the months specified. Matters drifted along until March, 1921, when the price of pig iron had declined to a point lower than the contract price.
