The plaintiff Thomas Macksey met David Gilvar when they attended Stockholm University in 1966. In 1979 they decided to market a friend’s invention, a portable display module for use at trade shows and exhibitions. Mack-sey, residing in Sweden, started and ran a company there, still in existence, that produced and sold the item. Gilvar started Extraversión, Inc., a Delaware company, with its principal place of business in Canton. Macksey was the beneficial owner of a significant percentage of the American company’s shares 2 ; he was designated a director but did not participate in the running…
