OPINION

RYAN, Circuit Judge.

This is a case in which an employer’s supervisors undertook to evaluate the suitability of a female employee’s hairstyle and, not surprisingly, got in over their heads. Eunice Hollins, an African-American, sued her employer, and its associated companies, collectively hereinafter “Atlantic,” alleging unlawful disparate treatment on the basis of race under 42 U.S.C. § 1981, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e-2000e-17, and Ohio Rev.Code § 4112.99, in the application of Atlantic’s personal grooming standards to Hollins’s hairstyle preferences.
