*1130 *428 This is another case in a series concerning the proper interpretation of Proposition 47 ("the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act"), the 2014 ballot initiative that reduced certain felony offenses to misdemeanors. In addition to prospectively reducing the penalty for these offenses, Proposition 47 also permitted eligible defendants who were serving felony sentences as of the measure's effective date to retroactively obtain relief by *1131 petitioning for recall of sentence and requesting resentencing.
