On November 8, 1990, defendants were arraigned on the charges of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (Penal Law § 265.02 [3]), a class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor *19(Penal Law § 265.01 [1]). These charges were reduced to one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree (Penal Law § 265.01 [1]), a class A misdemeanor, on January 17, 1991.
