The defendant Connecticut Employees Union Independent, Inc., appeals from the judgment of the trial court vacating an arbitration award. The dispositive issue on appeal is whether the trial court improperly granted the plaintiffs motion to vacate the *738arbitration award pursuant to General Statutes § 52-418 (a) (4).1 That court determined that the arbitrator had failed to render a final and definite award. We reverse the judgment of the trial court.2
