The plaintiff instituted suit for the recovery of a fee paid to the defendant for services rendered by *282him. The defendant was the district supervisor of the State Transfer Inheritance Tax Department of the State of New Jersey when he rendered the alleged services to the plaintiff. The plaintiff had met the defendant by prearrangement at a Camden bank where she had gone to examine with the defendant the contents of the safe deposit box of her late husband who died on February 2d, 1945.
