1. INTRODUCTION

Gilbert M. appeals the termination of Jan M.’s parental rights to her daughter — Gilbert’s granddaughter — Belinda T. 1 The state took Belinda from Gilbert’s home in 2000 when he was arrested on felony gun and drug charges. Jan has not appealed the termination of her parental rights and Belinda has since been adopted. Gilbert has been convicted of numerous felonies and is incarcerated for the foreseeable future.
