EVERETT, Chief Judge:

Appellant, contrary to his pleas, was convicted by a general court-martial with *2members of attempted sale of heroin, escape from custody, and possession of marihuana, in violation of Articles 80, 95, and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 880, 895 and 934, respectively. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement at hard labor and forfeiture of $300.00 pay per month for 8 years, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade. The convening authority set aside the findings of guilty as to escape and reduced the confinement to 7 years;…
