The plaintiff Eversharp, Inc. (successor to Schick) filed its original complaint in April 1949 alleging patent infringement, trade-mark infringement and unfair competition by the defendants. In September and October 1949 it got reports of the circulation by the defendant Pal Blade Co. Inc. of a letter which the plaintiff thought harmful to its business in safety razors and blades wherein the defendants were competitors.
