This is an action for the taking of real property. Individual plaintiffs (“Wards”) and Oak Forest Inc. are present or former owners of land in a subdivision in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina known as Oak Forest. Third-party plaintiff, Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Association of South Carolina (“Peoples”), holds mortgages on parcels of land in Oak Forest.
