OPINION

SIMONETT, Justice.

This case involves the state family farm foreclosure statute, Minn.Stat. § 500.24, and, specifically, the use of the former owner’s statutory right of first refusal. 1 We conclude that the manner in which the first refusal right was exercised in this case does not justify interference with plaintiff-appellant’s contract to purchase the farmland. We reverse the court of appeals’ contrary ruling, and remand to the trial court.
