POOLER, Circuit Judge:
World Wide Polymers, Inc. (“WWP”) sued Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corp. in November 2003 seeking damages and injunctive relief arising out of the failure of a joint venture between the parties. After an initial flurry of activity, the case lay dormant for nearly three years before discovery resumed. The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Loretta A. Preska, C.J.) granted several requests to extend the discovery schedule, but in granting the last one expressly stated “[n]o further extensions will be granted.” WWP proceeded to file its expert…
