Plaintiff and appellant Marlton Recovery Partners, LLC (Marlton), appeals from a judgment denying its verified petition for peremptory writ of mandate. In the petition, Marlton sought to overturn a decision by respondent County of Los Angeles; Mark J. Saladino, the Treasurer-Tax collector for the County of Los Angeles; and the Board of Supervisors for the County of Los Angeles (collectively the County) denying Marlton’s request for cancellation of tax penalties totaling approximately $1.6 million under Revenue and Taxation Code section 4985.2, subdivision (a).
