THOMAS, Chief Justice.

The major issue asserted in this case is whether there was sufficient authentication of a pair of school scissors to justify their admission into evidence as the instrumentality of the crime in a trial on a charge of aggravated assault and battery. A secondary issue is raised concerning the sufficiency of the evidence of the appellant’s ability, in light of evidence of alcohol or controlled substance intoxication, to form the intent necessary to sustain a conviction of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
