At this point, it is uncontested that, on January 6, 1994, plaintiffs attorney, Harold M. Hoffman, after flying to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), went to the office of Caribbean Corporate Services Limited (CCSL), the registered agent for defendants ICD Merchandise Limited, Applied Investment Technology Limited, Hightech Consolidated Limited, Apollo Industries Limited and Regent Systems Limited (hereinafter the BVI defendants), and delivered five copies of the summons and complaint to one Gurli Tychsen, a director of CCSL, who is concededly the…
