We are asked to interpret provisions of the Hague Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters dated November 15, 1965 (hereinafter the Hague Convention or the Convention) (20 UST 361, TIAS 6638, 658 UNTS 163),1 and their *391application to the plaintiff’s service of process on a Swedish company.
