On this appeal, defendant Cheryl Santiago contends that her confession to the police following the death of her stepdaughter was insufficiently corroborated by independent evidence at trial to support her conviction of manslaughter in the second degree. Secondly, she argues that County Court abused its discretion in admitting certain letters into evidence that were not sufficiently redacted.
