The basic problem involved on this appeal can be stated as follows: A prospective purchaser, the defendant, unable to find sources of supply of desired materials, requests a broker, the plaintiff, to assist him in finding such materials. The broker finds a supplier and brings the purchaser and supplier together. The purchaser and broker enter into a contract whereby the purchaser agrees to pay the broker a 2% per cent commission on the consummated deal, and on all other purchases made from the same supplier by the purchaser within one year of the date of the contract, the purchaser informing…
