OPINION OF THE COURT
FULTON, Senior Judge:
On 28 May 1978, the appellant and three other American soldiers robbed a German man of his billfold containing approximately $26.00 worth of German currency and coin. He was tried by a general court-martial and convicted of the offense on 2 May 1979, almost six months after his term of enlistment had expired.1 Although he expressly declined to raise any jurisdictional issue at his trial, the appellant now contends that the court-martial lacked in personam jurisdiction because he had been illegally retained in active service after his enlistment term…
