The plaintiffs in error, Danny Stanton and Edgar Smith, filed their petition in the criminal court of Cook county alleging that they were unlawfully deprived of their liberty by William D. Meyering, sheriff of Cook county, by virtue of a warrant issued by the Governor of the State of Illinois dated October 18, 1930, on the requisition of the Governor of the State of Wisconsin, charging the relators with the murder of Jack Zuta in the State of Wisconsin on August 1, 1930.
