Judge OHLSON delivered the opinion of the Court.

Contrary to his pleas, a panel of officer and enlisted court-martial members convicted Appellant of attempted murder (three specifications) and premeditated murder (two *371specifications), in violation of Articles 80 and 118, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. §§ 880, 918 (2000). The fifteen-member panel sentenced Appellant to death.
