Sometimes bad things happen to good people. This lawsuit arises out of one such instance.
Plaintiffs are a husband, wife and their four-year-old daughter. They are law-abiding citizens of the City of Mount Vernon. Through no fault of their own, they were subjected to a frightening encounter with armed and helmeted officers of the Mount Vernon Police Department, who burst into their home at 6 AM on July 13, 2007, handcuffed them, and searched their apartment.
