MeDERMOTT, Circuit Judge..Appellant was convicted and sentenced to eighteen months in the penitentiary under an indictment which is set out in the margin. 1 .

Section 145 of the Criminal Code (18-USCA § 250) provides:

“Whoever shall, under a threat of informing, or as a consideration for not informing, against any violation of any law of the United States, demand or receive any money or other valuable thing, shall be fined not more than $2,000, or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.”

Section 146 (18 USCA § 251) provides:
