OPINION

{¶ 1} Defendant-appellant, Rodney Carson, appeals from a judgment of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas denying his request for leave to file a delayed motion for new trial. For the following reasons, we affirm.

{¶ 2} On September 15, 2004, a jury found defendant guilty of aggravated murder with a firearm specification. The trial court subsequently found defendant guilty of having a weapon while under a disability. On December 6, 2004, the trial court issued a judgment entry in which it sentenced defendant to serve a term of 20 years to life for the aggravated murder conviction…
