A judge of the Superior Court in Plymouth County reported the present case to the Appeals Court for a determination whether the defendant, Hingham Housing Authority (authority), was entitled to the allowance of its motion for summary judgment. We transferred the case to this court on our own motion. The plaintiff, Mabel L. Commesso, brought an action for personal injuries sustained on February 11, 1985, when she slipped and fell on ice in a driveway at her residence which is owned and maintained by the authority.
