On June 28, 1930, the Corn Belt Bank of Blooming-ton, Illinois, defendant in error, took judgment by-confession for the sum of $35,406.25 in the circuit court of McLean county. The judgment was entered by virtue of three judgment notes each dated December 27, 1929, two for the principal sum of $10,000 each and one for the sum of $11,250. Each was payable six months after date with interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date and each was payable to the order of Bodman Tractor & Equipment, Inc. Each note bore on its face in writing the following legend: “This note is non-negotiable…
