Appellants are present or former employees of General Dynamics Corporation, Electric Boat Division (hereinafter “GD”), and are or were members of a collective bargaining unit represented by appellee International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America and Marine Draftsmen’s Association, UAW Local 571 (hereinafter collectively the “UAW” or the “Union”).
