For the purpose of impeaching the credit of Bernard Stern, a witness who had testified for the defendant, plaintiff in rebuttal offered in evidence a transcript of the docket entries of the court of quarter sessions of Montgomery county in a criminal case in which he was defendant. These brief entries showed that he was indicted for perjury, that the petit jury rendered a verdict of guilty as to some of the counts, and not guilty as to the others, and that, after verdict, a motion for new trial and in arrest of judgment was made, which was undisposed of.
