I. INTRODUCTION

Currently pending before the court are several motions in several related declaratory judgment patent actions. Plaintiffs Boston Scientific Corporation and Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc. (collectively, “BSC”) have filed four complaints against defendants Johnson & Johnson, Inc. and Cordis Corporation (collectively, “J & J”), seeking a judgment that each of four J & J patents are invalid: U.S. Patent Nos. 7,217,286 (“the '7286 patent”) (Civ.
