This action, as said in the preliminary statement, was brought by the plaintiff-appellee, the Federal Land Bank of Omaha, a corporation, to obtain, first, judgment on a promissory note; and, second, the foreclosure of a real estate mortgage. The note for $20,000 was signed on March 7, 1924, by the defendants-appellants Myron E. Wilmarth and Effie P. Wilmarth, husband and wife. Myron E. Wilmarth is an attorney at law, practicing his profession at Corning, Iowa.
