On the 30th day of December, 1891, Adolph Goldsmith, Weis & Oppenheimer, Wolf & Go., Heyman & Sweet, and the Middleton Plate Company, as plaintiffs, brought an action in the district court of Douglas county against O. L. Erickson, Charles E. Ford, and the Union National Bank of Omaha. The averments in the petition were, in *49substance, that on and prior to December 81, 1890, tbe defendant G. L. Erickson was indebted to the several plaintiffs in the amount described, and was the owner in possession 'of a large stock of jewelry, with the fixtures and other property connected therewith,…
