LEVAL, Circuit Judge.
Petitioner, acting pro se, asks leave of this court to file a petition for habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking to overturn petitioner’s federal criminal conviction. He has sought leave of this court in the belief that his petition is a “second or successive” petition, which, under the terms of § 2255 (last paragraph), may not be filed in the district court unless a panel of the court of appeals has first certified, as provided in § 2244, that it conforms to specified requirements.
