July 15, 1925. The opinion of the Court was delivered by This was an action commenced March 5, 1923, for damages for slander uttered by the defendants. The action was tried before Judge Bonham and a jury February 15, 1924, and resulted in a verdict for the plaintiff for $3,500. Subsequent thereto, upon motion of counsel for defendants, the Court set aside the verdict as to defendant Life Casualty Insurance Company of Tennessee, upon the grounds set forth herein below.
