The plaintiff, Eileen F. Lombardi (the wife), filed a complaint for contempt on October 28, 2004, seeking enforce*408ment against the defendant, Dante C. Lombardi, Jr. (the husband), of child support and alimony provisions contained in a judgment of divorce nisi entered on July 6, 1976.2 A judge of the Probate and Family Court, on the strength of Heider v.
