Daniel Joseph Reid (“Defendant”) appeals from a judgment entered after a jury convicted him of trafficking in cocaine by possession pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 90-95(h)(3)(a) (2011). Defendant contends the trial court erred by (1) failing to advise him of his right to hire a private attorney; (2) denying his request for a jury instruction concerning entrapment; (3) failing to disclose the names of the confidential informants involved in the investigation and their communications with law enforcement officials; and (4) denying his motion to suppress evidence.…
