| Appellant Jimmy Northern was charged in the Mississippi County Circuit Court with first-degree felony murder, aggravated robbery, and felon in possession of a firearm. On the morning of trial, the State orally amended the information, charging Northern with first-degree murder. At the conclusion of the evidence, the trial court gave the jury an instruction for second-degree murder as a lesser-included offense of first-degree murder.
