The primary issue in this appeal is whether the trial court erred in modifying an arbitration award by including preaward interest in the judgment confirming the award.

Avenue Developments, Inc. (Avenue) entered into a construction contract with Creative Builders, Inc. (Creative) to build a mini-storage and office facility for Avenue. A dispute arose prior to completion of the building and Avenue ordered Creative off the job and refused to pay the balance of the contract.
