This matter is before the Court on a petition filed by Leonard Johnson (herein*599after “Mr. Johnson”), seeking habeas corpus relief pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. The Magistrate Judge recommended that Mr. Johnson’s petition be dismissed as time-barred, and Mr. Johnson submitted objections. Rec. Docs. 52, 53. The Court, having considered the petition, the record, the applicable law, the Report and Recommendation, and the petitioner’s objections, hereby rejects the Report and Recommendation of the United States Magistrate Judge.
