The facts upon which a reversal of the judgment is sought are not in dispute. In the year 1869 Martha Jane Jordan resided with her father and mother, William and Martha Jordan, on a farm in the town of Glen Plaven in Grant county. On February 23, 1869, Martha, who was then nearly twenty years of age, attended a dance in the company of Charles Kaufman, a young man residing some two and a half miles distant from her father’s farm.
