Several months after the death of C. W. Goodlander, H. T. Haines and his wife presented a joint demand in the probate court against the Good-lander estate for $28,368.90, founded upon a note said to have been executed by C. W. Goodlander on August 2, 1901, for $26,000, payable to the order of Mrs. H. T. Haines, one year after date, with interest at eight per cent, per annum.
