George Walker is a District of Columbia government employee who was wrongfully terminated in 1996 and reinstated thirteen years later following lengthy administrative and judicial proceedings. This case centers on Mr. Walker’s right to back pay over the course of that thirteen-year period — specifically, whether Mr. Walker was required to mitigate his damages by looking for other work.
